Cheese and butter: future forecasting

Cheese and butter: future forecasting

What’s the future for cheese and butter? This question was posed to us by a major UK manufacturer who wanted to inform their ideation and innovation pipeline in those two categories.

Our bespoke future forecasting response outlined the evolving signals within the sector, including what’s trending now and directions of change for the future. We examined cheese and butter trends in retail, hospitality, social media, and mainstream publishing, plotted against the major economic shifts and consumer drivers shaping the market.

We explored how butter is creating hype and buzz beyond food, such as new Collage Skincare butter eye masks and liquid gold by BUTTER creative design studio. We also explored how plant-based cheese such as Willicroft grated toastie mix or pasta pairing, are pushing traditional dairy categories to create more meal-targeted, functional formats.

The client was delighted with this research project, and they’ll use the outputs in workshops, ideation sessions, and as part of their internal processes.
